COMPLIANCE
As a global company, compliance with worldwide regulatory requirements and internal policies is fundamental to the way that we do business.
Freight And Metro Logistics understands that we have a corporate responsibility towards our customers, employees, investors and the general public.
That’s why we have a global strategy for profitable growth, built around a single system of shared values and policies that guide our employees from day to day.
Our compliance organisation helps to embed these values throughout the company and ensures that our Compliance Program is implemented globally.
Compliance Commitment from the Executive Board
Compliance is one of Freight And Metro Logistics’s top priorities, alongside high quality standards, a proactive environmental policy and a focus on sustainability in management and operational processes. The Executive Board of Freight And Metro Logistics has given its commitment to fair competition and compliance with all relevant national and international laws, especially in relation to corruption, bribery and price-fixing. These activities are unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Any internal or external violations of applicable laws will not be tolerated, and will be subject to appropriate legal action.
Freight And Metro Logistics has a Global Code of Ethics which clearly states the required standards of conduct. Every Freight And Metro Logistics employee has read the Code and provided a written acknowledgement.
To prevent breaches, the Executive Board of Freight And Metro Logistics has implemented a wide range of measures. These include a global Internal Control System (ICS), compliance training that is mandatory for all employees, and a localized whistle blower hotline, which enables employees to pass on information anonymously in their native language. The Executive Board calls on any employees who become aware of any violations or suspicious behavior to report these immediately to their supervisors, their local Compliance Officer, their Regional Compliance Officer or the central Compliance Department and Chief Compliance Officer. Unless involved in non-compliant actions, any employee who provides information about unlawful activities will not be disadvantaged as a result.
Freight And Metro Logistics‘s compliance program primarily comprises the areas of competition law, anti-corruption and observance of embargoes and sanctions.
The Global Compliance Team, which reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer, and the Compliance Officers in the regional headquarters and subsidiary companies, ensure that the Freight And Metro Logistics Compliance Program is implemented across the Company, for example through Internet-based and face-to-face training. The Executive Board and the Supervisory Board’s Audit Committee are kept informed by means of regular Compliance Reports.
