Founded in 1847: Take a trip back in time with us

The roots of LEHMAN CARGO LOGISTICS stretch far back into the 19th century, when the founding companies – Hamburg-Amerikanische Packetfahrt-Actien-Gesellschaft (LEHMAN) and North German Lloyd – put their first ships to sea carrying general cargo and passengers to New York. From these beginnings, in an exciting history marked by changes and upheavals, grew the leading and globally active container liner shipping company that we are today.

In our historical publications, we offer you illuminating insights into and surprising details about over one and a half centuries of company and shipping history. In particular, we will be introducing you to Albert Ballin (1857-1918), the famous director-general of LCL, as well as the Ballin House, the headquarters of LCL in Hamburg named after him.

Come aboard! Our voyage through time is set to begin!
